Nyanko-sensei runs away from Natsume to chase a dragonfly. He finds himself stuck with two young children on their first errand. He keeps trying to leave, but the area of the forest they're in is filled with dangerous youkai. Can he help them complete their errand, while still retaining his sanity?

As the first delicate snowflake touches the cold ground, Nyanko-sensei dozes on his hot-water bottle next to Takashi Natsume. While his aunt prepares a warm dinner, Natsume takes a walk, welcoming the snow and the chilly weather. However, his peaceful promenade is disturbed by a white, fluffy snowman yokai with perturbing black eyes, searching for something warm and sparkly. With no further information, Natsume sets off to help find what the spirit desires.

Natsume encounters a pair of youkai who make cups that turn sake delicious. Their power is waning, and they've come to a spring that's said to restore spiritual energy. But the spring is occupied by a monster...

While searching for Nyanko-sensei, Natsume gets invovled in a dangerous game of hide and seek.

Natsume encounters an old man who asks for help with getting home. The old man turns out to be a yokai who will soon disappear and he asks Natsume to help him to fulfill a promise that he had made.

Tamami, a young schoolgirl, counts her steps through a forest, following instructions on a piece of paper. She stops to take a break and falls asleep but is awakened by an odd talking cat. Through meeting the cat and his human partner, Natsume, she learns that the forest has its own separate world from the contemporary, where one can see things otherwise invisible. Putting her trust in the duo, Tamami tells them about the story of how she helped a white owl that reappeared in her dreams to lead her back inside the bizarre forest.

An orphaned teen encounters a supernatural creature that has the ability to look human.

Takashi Natsume and his loyal feline protector Madara take a trip to Hitoyoshi Kuma, a peaceful area in Kumamoto. From admiring the Kaname Falls to relaxing at the Tsurukame hot spring, the duo unwind and take in the beautiful scenery throughout the eventful day.

This short 2021 movie is composed of two new (23 minute) standalone stories that could have been added to a season, but instead, were combined into one film. 1. Natsume searches for Madara, his missing Bodyguard, and runs into "Mitsumi", a diminutive youkai who is on a mission as the "Ishi Okoshi," the waker of "Gantetsu", a powerful water spirit. 2. Natsume's friend Tanuma who has strong spiritual power, but it only allows him to see the echoes of the past at the temple where he and his father live. Tanuma begins acting distant and his behavior has Natsume worried about a strange new friend of Tanuma, is this stranger connected to the concerning malaise affecting Tanuma?
