Hackett and team are left in the lurch when Raymond Blake fails show to pick up £100,000 in stolen cash. Blake is met by Charlie Walker and his team who demand an 80% cut. Hackett is alerted when Mrs. Blake is seen with aid Venables.

Geoffrey Wyatt wants a Queen's Pardon for his son, who was wrongfully hanged 15 years earlier. He takes MP Jack Sissons hostage with a briefcase of explosives.

Millett Construction are bidding for the M58 contract. Civil servant John McCorquadale is caught in a honey trap but then killed. Hecht buys Millett and Hackett tries to find the money.

Hackett and DC Aston are guarding informer Heslop prior to giving evidence against target criminal Collyer. Aston is killed by a bomb placed in Heslop's car. Now Heslop has gone on the run from both Hackett and Collyer.

6 The Trouble with Charlie

Hackett bumps into ex-girlfriend Trish Walker at the airport, who's carrying £12,000 of cocaine for Scott Taylor. While out, with Hackett, Taylor's drug deal goes wrong and an innocent man is killed.

7 Figures of Importance

Hackett's ex-fiancée Gemma Maskell rings him out of the blue. He's unaware that her husband is threatening her life if she doesn't return to London. The following day, she is dragged from the river, strangled to death.

8 The Run

A courier arriving from Frankfurt is mugged. He has on him a sample case with pure gold moldings. Hackett believes Billy Jarvis is smuggling gold and using his porn empire has a front.
