Biography

Tadateru Konoe is the husband of Princess Yasuko of Mikasa, and together with his wife has one child, Tadahiro Konoe. They two married in 1966. and as per the Imperial Household Law of 1947, she was forced to relinquish her title. Today she is known as Yasuko Konoe. Tadahiro is a Japanese humanitarian who served as President of the Japanese Red Cross from April 2005 – June 28, 2019, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 22 November 2009 – 6 November 2017, and currently serves as Honorary President of the Japanese Red Cross since June 28, 2019.
