Biography

JAY (born Vijayanathan Dhaharasen on 29th May 1976) is a Malaysian Indian composer, vocalist, vocal tutor, and social activist. He hails from Penang, Malaysia but is currently residing in Kuala Lumpur. He debuted as Music Director in the movie "Aandal" under the direction of Sandosh Kesavan in 2005. The song 'Uyirai Tholaithen' from the Malaysian Indian telemovie "Kadhal Veendum"; which was released in 2007; was a huge commercial success and gave Jay his initial breakthrough.
