Biography

Ryner Viray is a Filipino filmmaker based in Manila, Philippines. He recently earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Film from the University of the Philippines Film Institute. His undergraduate thesis film, Ang Luha ay Bahagi ng Karagatan (2025), was recognized for its restrained yet emotionally complex storytelling, inspired by his lived experiences with addiction, mental health, and generational trauma. Drawing from a blend of transcendental cinema and psychological realism, the film has been lauded for its visual and narrative precision.
