Biography

Born and raised in Prince George's County, MD, Richard T. Fields discovered his passion for storytelling at an early age. After earning his B.S. in Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, he decided to pursue his creative interests through American University's MFA in Film & Electronic Media program where he would be selected as commencement speaker for his graduating class. Shortly after his graduation, Richard would go on to win the American Black Film Festival’s first ever “McDonald’s Lovin Video Competition,” for which his short film “Puppy Love,” would be featured online as a McDonald’s national ad campaign.
