Katya Aragão, a writer, director and producer from São Tomé and Príncipe, holds a BA in Communication and Culture from ULHT. Inspired by her father's stories and Disney films, her passion for storytelling began in childhood. After a decade in journalism and TV production, she debuted as a director in 2017. Selected for Netflix & UNESCO's African Folktales, Reimagined in 2022, her latest short documentary, The Battle of the Giants, won multiple international awards. Her filmography includes Mina Kiá (2017), In Our Hands (2019), and Now We Can (2021).
