Biography

Carol Liu was born and raised in Los Angeles and spent her formative summers in China. She graduated from Stanford University, where she was a Chappell-Lougee Scholar, with a degree in creative writing. She received her MFA in writing and directing from New York University’s Graduate Film Program, where she was awarded several distinctions, including the Dalio Family Foundation Scholarship for Excellence, Tisch Scholarship, and Alan Landsburg Documentary Production Award.
