Biography

Melina Kana (real name: Maria Kanata, Thessaloniki, 29 May 1966) is a Greek singer. She was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She studied literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from where she received her degree. She began singing during her student years. In 1987, she appeared at the Plato in Thessaloniki, a collaboration that lasted four years. During this period, she met the composer Stavros Kougioumtzis and collaborated with him.
