Biography

Staten is a British writer & director based near Brighton. He is currently completing post-production on his jet-black comedy satirising the self-help industry, A Serial Killer's Guide to Life. He trained on the NFTS Emerging Producers course after initially training as an actor, and has been selected as writer & director for talent schemes including BAFTA's Guru Pro & Loco's SKY Comedy Mentor Scheme. His pitch-black comedy short This Way Out, set in a struggling euthanasia centre, screened at over 30 international film festivals, won 5 international awards and was long-listed for a BAFTA.
