Ryan J. Condal is an American screenwriter and producer. He serves as showrunner for the prequel House of the Dragon, jointly with Miguel Sapochnik in the first season. He has previously been a showrunner for the American science fiction drama series Colony. He has also worked on a cancelled fantasy western, at the filming of which he met George R.R. Martin. Condal is familiar with A Song of Ice and Fire, having discovered the series when A Storm of Swords was published.
