Thimios Bakatakis, born in 1970 in Athens, Greece, is a Greek cinematographer known for his work with director Yorgos Lanthimos. A graduate of the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos. Like most of Lanthimos’ collaborators, Bakatakis knew him from a commercial advertising agency in the 1990s. He shot all Lanthimos’ films before The Favourite (2018), including Kinetta (2005), Dogtooth (2009), Alps (2011), and The Lobster (2015), each with a distinct visual style.
