Holguín, Cuba, September 16, 1955. Stage, film, and television actor, whose full name is Fernando Rogelio Hechavarría Gibert. He initially studied design, painting, and sculpture at the Provincial School of Visual Arts in Holguín, but graduated in 1976 from the National School of Art with a degree in Acting. Between 1978 and 1994, he worked with the Escambray Theatre Group, a community theatre project based in that mountainous region of the country.
