Miki, a food consultant, comes from a family that runs an okonomiyaki restaurant. After losing her parents in an unfortunate accident and just as she was about to close the shop, it is revealed that her father had become a guarantor for someone else's debt. A full-scale food drama set in the downtown area, depicting a woman who lives her life devoted to food and love. Yumiko, an editor, is from a family that runs a tonkatsu restaurant. When she goes to a rival restaurant to do some research, she is reunited with her childhood friend Taichi. Gradually, the two become attracted to each other, and plan a food battle to get their relationship recognized by both families.
